Relating to a Special Election for the
Thirty-Third Senate District
WHEREAS, the Honorable Rich Zipperer submitted his resignation as a State Senator for the Thirty-Third Senate District, effective August 5, 2012;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Scott Walker, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, pursuant to
article IV, section 14 of the Wisconsin Constitution and section 8.50(4) of the Wisconsin Statutes, order that a special election be held on December 4, 2012 to fill the vacancy in the Thirty-Third Senate District, as created in
2011 Act 43, and whose boundaries are set out in section 4.009 of the Wisconsin Statutes. A copy of the boundary descriptions may be obtained from the Government Accountability Board or the Legislative Reference Bureau. The term for the Thirty-Third Senate District will expire on the first Monday in January, 2015. If a primary is necessary, it shall be held on November 6, 2012. Circulation of nomination papers for candidates may begin today, September 18, 2012, and nomination papers must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m., October 9, 2012 in the office of the Government Accountability Board, 212 East Washington Avenue, Third Floor, P.O. Box 7984, Madison, Wisconsin, 53707. This election shall be held, conducted, canvassed, and returned in accordance with law.
