SB128,1,2 1An Act to create 757.69 (1) (bn) of the statutes; relating to: allowing court
2commissioners to issue search warrants for certain civil violations.

This bill authorizes court commissioners to issue search warrants in matters
involving a civil violation of a state or local prohibition against driving while having
a prohibited alcohol concentration or while under the influence of an intoxicant, a
controlled substance, a controlled substance analog, or any combination of an
intoxicant, a controlled substance, and a controlled substance analog.
Under current law, court commissioners may authorize search warrants in
criminal matters.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB128,1 3Section 1 . 757.69 (1) (bn) of the statutes is created to read:
SB128,1,54 757.69 (1) (bn) In matters involving a civil violation of s. 346.63 or of a local
5ordinance that conforms with s. 346.63, issue search warrants.
