AB632,1,2 1An Act to amend 20.435 (7) (bc) of the statutes; relating to: grants for
2Alzheimer's disease and dementia awareness and making an appropriation.

This bill requires the Department of Health Services to award grants to
increase awareness of Alzheimer's disease and dementia in rural and underserved
urban areas.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB632,1 3Section 1. 20.435 (7) (bc) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB632,2,34 20.435 (7) (bc) Grants for community programs. The amounts in the schedule
5for grants for community programs under s. 46.48 and for grants under 2017
6Wisconsin Act .... (this act), section 3 (1)
. Notwithstanding ss. 20.001 (3) (a) and
720.002 (1), the department may transfer funds between fiscal years under this
8paragraph. Except as otherwise provided in this paragraph, all funds allocated but

1not encumbered by December 31 of each year lapse to the general fund on the next
2January 1 unless carried forward to the next calendar year by the joint committee
3on finance.

AB632,3 14Section 3 . Nonstatutory provisions.
AB632,2,1815 (1) Alzheimer's disease grants. In the 2017-19 fiscal biennium, the
16department of health services shall award grants in a total amount not to exceed
17$500,000 for the purpose of increasing awareness of Alzheimer's disease and
18dementia in rural and underserved urban areas.
AB632,4 19Section 4. Fiscal changes.
AB632,2,2320 (1) Alzheimer's disease grants. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the
21statutes for the appropriation to the department of health services under section
2220.435 (7) (bc) of the statutes, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2017-18 is increased
23by $500,000 to award grants under Section 3 (1 ) of this act.
AB632,5 24Section 5. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication,
25except as follows:

1(1) The treatment of section 20.435 (7) (bc) (by Section 2) of the statutes takes
2effect on July 1, 2019.
