SR5,1,32 Whereas, Richard J. Stadelman graduated from the University of
3Wisconsin-Madison Law School in December 1972; and
SR5,1,64 Whereas, Richard was elected district attorney in Shawano and Menominee
5Counties in 1974 and 1976, where he had previously served as assistant district
6attorney from 1973 to 1974; and
SR5,1,87 Whereas, Richard first began working with the Wisconsin Towns Association
8in 1979 as general legal counsel; and
SR5,1,109 Whereas, Richard became the legislative representative for the Wisconsin
10Towns Association in 1984; and
SR5,1,1311 Whereas, Richard became executive director of the Wisconsin Towns
12Association in 1987, where he dutifully advocated for the interests of local
13government; and
SR5,2,214 Whereas, Richard, during his tenure as executive director, served on numerous
15Legislative Council special study committees as well as the Department of

1Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection's Livestock Siting Advisory Committee
2and Working Lands Committee; and
SR5,2,43 Whereas, Richard and his wife, Sue, live in the town of Richmond, Wisconsin,
4and have four children together; and
SR5,2,75 Whereas, following a long and distinguished career in service to the people of
6this state, Richard is retiring from his role as executive director of the Wisconsin
7Towns Association; now, therefore, be it
SR5,2,11 8Resolved by the senate, That the members of the Wisconsin senate do hereby
9honor and commend Richard J. Stadelman for his 41 years of devoted service to the
10people and towns of Wisconsin and wish him a long and healthy retirement; and, be
11it further
SR5,2,13 12Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution to
13Richard and his wife, Sue.
