4pelvic organ prolapse; and
SJR71,1,65 Whereas, half of women who give birth vaginally experience pelvic organ
6prolapse; and
SJR71,1,77 Whereas, half of women in menopause experience pelvic organ prolapse; and
SJR71,1,98 Whereas, there is currently no standard screening protocol for pelvic organ
9prolapse during routine pelvic exams; and
SJR71,1,1210 Whereas, pelvic organ prolapse has remained shrouded in silence despite being
11on medical record for over four thousand years, in the Kahun Gynaecological
12Papyrus of 1835 B.C.; and

14emotionally, socially, and sexually, as well as within fitness and employment
15dynamics; and

1Whereas, the stigma of embarrassing symptoms currently makes it difficult for
2women to reveal those symptoms to health care practitioners; and
SJR71,2,63 Whereas, awareness and screening have the potential to shift the impact of
4pelvic floor health balance in the lives of all women regarding stigma and access to
5early diagnosis and treatment, as well as establish educational paths and advocacy;
6now, therefore, be it

8Wisconsin legislature join our colleagues in Congress by proclaiming June as Pelvic
9Organ Prolapse Awareness Month.
