SJR43,1,1 1Relating to: recognizing Parental Involvement Day.
SJR43,1,32 Whereas, the third Thursday of November is designated in other states as
3"National Parental Involvement Day"; and
SJR43,1,54 Whereas, in excess of 9,000,000 family members participate in volunteer
5opportunities at 18,000 schools in all 50 states each school year; and
SJR43,1,86 Whereas, research indicates a strong correlation between a student's ability to
7achieve academic success and consistent levels of parental involvement in local
8schools; and
SJR43,1,109 Whereas, every school in Wisconsin has benefited from the volunteer services
10of parents and community members; now therefore, be it
SJR43,2,2 11Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That in recognition of
12the importance of parental involvement in schools, the members of the Wisconsin
13legislature do hereby proclaim November 21, 2013, to be Parental Involvement Day,
14and encourage appropriate observances, ceremonies, exercises, and activities in

1conjunction with that day to focus attention on the principle of parental involvement
2in schools.
