AJR75,1,32 Whereas, Glen E. Pommerening Jr. was born September 27, 1927, in
3Milwaukee; and
AJR75,1,54 Whereas, Glen received a bachelor of science degree in 1950 and a bachelor of
5law degree in 1953 from the University of Wisconsin; and
AJR75,1,76 Whereas, Glen was on the board of directors for the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation
7and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission; and
AJR75,1,98 Whereas, Glen was elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 1954 and served six
9terms; and
AJR75,1,1110 Whereas, Glen became chair of the Joint Committee on Finance in 1963 and
11chair of the Republican Assembly Policy Committee in 1961; and
AJR75,1,1412 Whereas, Glen also served as chair of the Assembly Commerce and
13Manufactures Committee, the Elections Committee, and the Taxation Committee;

1Whereas, Glen became vice chair of the Board on Government Operations and
2State Building Commission; and

4Judgment Debtor Relief, and Legislative Organization and Procedure, and the
5Legislative Council and its "Committee of 25"; and
AJR75,2,86 Whereas, Glen served on the governor's Blue Ribbon Committee on Tax Policy,
7Tax Sources and Incidence Subcommittee and the Continuing Revenue Survey
8Committee; and
AJR75,2,109 Whereas, Glen was appointed deputy secretary of administration by Governor
10Warren Knowles in 1966; and
AJR75,2,1211 Whereas, Glen moved to McLean, Virginia, and worked as deputy assistant
12attorney general for the United States Department of Justice; and
AJR75,2,1413 Whereas, Glen was transferred to the Federal Bureau of Prisons as the deputy
14assistant director until he retired in 1988; and
AJR75,2,1515 Whereas, Glen raised four children: William, Philip, David, and Jean; and
AJR75,2,1716 Whereas, Glen E. Pommerening Jr. passed away on September 10, 2013, at the
17age of 85 in his home in Alexandria, Virginia; now, therefore, be it
AJR75,2,20 18Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
19legislature honors the life and public service of Glen E. Pommerening Jr. and extends
20condolences to his family and friends.
