SR5,1,2 1Relating to: imposing penalties and costs on Senator Spencer Coggs for being
2absent without leave.

SR5,1,43 Whereas, Senator Spencer Coggs of the 6th Senate District has been absent
4without leave from the March 3, 2011, and March 4, 2011, session days; and

SR5,1,65 Whereas, Senate Rule 13n imposes penalties and costs on any member of the
6senate who is absent without leave for two or more session days; and

SR5,1,97 Whereas, pursuant to Senate Rule 13n, Senator Coggs has received notice by
8publication of both this resolution and the senate calendar which includes
9consideration of this resolution that he is subject to such penalties and costs; and

SR5,1,1310 Whereas, the sergeant at arms has delivered a copy of both this resolution and
11the senate calendar which includes consideration of this resolution to Senator Coggs'
12senate office, thereby providing additional notice to the senator, pursuant to Senate
13Rule 13n; and

SR5,2,214 Whereas, pursuant to Senate Rule 13n, Senator Coggs has an opportunity to
15be heard, on the session day on which this resolution is before the senate, on the

1matter of whether or not penalties and costs for being absent without leave may be
2imposed on the senator; and

SR5,2,53 Whereas, upon adoption of this resolution, Senator Coggs is responsible for the
4penalties and costs imposed under Senate Rule 13n for each day that the senator is
5absent without leave; now, therefore, be it

SR5,2,11 6Resolved by the senate, That pursuant to Senate Rule 13n, Senator Spencer
7Coggs shall pay the penalties and costs imposed under Senate Rule 13n for being
8absent without leave for two or more session days and that the total amount of such
9penalties and costs shall be calculated by the senate chief clerk and submitted to the
10president who shall deliver that total, in writing, to Senator Spencer Coggs' senate
11office for immediate payment.
