SJR59,1,43 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager was born in Reedsburg, and died on
4November 5, 2009, as a result of the shootings at Fort Hood; and
SJR59,1,65 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager earned both his bachelor of science degree in
6nursing and his master of science degree in nursing from Marquette University; and
SJR59,1,87 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager was a nurse practitioner who joined the Army
8four years ago to help veterans returning to civilian life; and
SJR59,1,109 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager earned his doctorate degree in alternative
10medicine, and stressed wellness of mind, body, and spirit; and
SJR59,1,1311 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager helped veterans struggling with
12post-traumatic stress disorder at the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical
13Center in Milwaukee; and
SJR59,1,1514 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager taught classes at Bryant & Stratton College
15in Milwaukee since 2005; and

1Whereas, Captain Russell Seager was assigned to the 467th Medical
2Detachment Center (Combat Stress Control) of the Army Reserve; and
SJR59,2,43 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager was described by loved ones as a healer, a
4teacher, and a lifelong student; and
SJR59,2,65 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager provided faithful and honorable service to the
6people of the state of Wisconsin and the people of the United States; and
SJR59,2,87 Whereas, Captain Russell Seager is survived by his wife, Cynthia, and his son
8Joseph; and
SJR59,2,109 Whereas, the people of Wisconsin mourn the death of Captain Russell Seager;
10now, therefore, be it
SJR59,2,15 11Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of
12the state of Wisconsin commends the devoted service that Army Reserve Captain
13Russell Seager gave unselfishly to his country, his state, and his community;
14expresses its sorrow at his death; and extends its deepest sympathy to his family and
15friends; and, be it further
SJR59,2,18 16Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
17resolution to Army Reserve Captain Russell Seager's wife, Cynthia; his son, Joseph;
18his father, Vernon Seager; and his sister, Barb Prudhomme.
