1An Act to amend 254.61 (1) (b), 254.61 (5) (d) and 254.74 (1p) (a) (intro.) of the
2statutes;
relating to: meals that a bed and breakfast establishment may serve.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a bed and breakfast establishment must be licensed to
operate in Wisconsin. A bed and breakfast establishment is defined, in part, as a
place of lodging that has eight or fewer rooms for rent, is the owner's personal
residence, provides no meals other than breakfast, and provides breakfast only to
guests. A bed and breakfast is not required to have a restaurant license to prepare
and serve breakfast to its guests.
This bill provides that a bed and breakfast may serve any meal to its guests and
is not required to have a restaurant license to prepare and serve the meals to its
guests.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
