AJR85,1,32 Whereas, Wisconsin's coroners and medical examiners provide medicolegal
3death investigations in each of our 72 counties; and
AJR85,1,54 Whereas, approximately 375 professionals currently serve our citizens as
5coroners, medical examiners, deputies, and death investigators; and
AJR85,1,76 Whereas, these dedicated public servants perform their duties for all citizens
7and guests of our state, day and night, 365 days per year; and
AJR85,1,98 Whereas, they work closely with the justice system and public health and safety
9agencies using the tools of forensic science and medicine; and
AJR85,1,1110 Whereas, they work closely with the families and friends of those who have
11died, offering compassion and understanding during a time of grief and loss; and
AJR85,1,1312 Whereas, they work to understand and explain the cause and circumstances of
13unexpected, unusual, and suspicious deaths for the benefit of our communities; and
AJR85,1,1514 Whereas, they are dedicated professionals performing a duty and service
15worthy of respect and recognition; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the fourth week of
2October be annually recognized as Medicolegal Death Investigators Week, with the
3gratitude of the people of the state of Wisconsin for the service that they provide.
