AJR105,1,63 Whereas, Amy S. Krueger, born August 7, 1980, daughter of Jerilyn Krueger
4and David Diem, died on November 5, 2009, of injuries sustained during the terrorist
5attack at Fort Hood military post in Texas while preparing to deploy to Afghanistan;
6and
AJR105,1,87 Whereas, Amy graduated from Kiel High School in Kiel, Wisconsin, in 1998,
8after which she pursued further schooling at the University of Wisconsin; and
AJR105,1,129 Whereas, Amy enlisted in the United States Army after the events of
10September 11, 2001, completed her basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri,
11and was then stationed in San Antonio, Texas, where Amy was trained as a mental
12health specialist; and
AJR105,1,1513 Whereas, in 2003, Amy was deployed to Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan in
14support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and returned to the United States the
15summer of 2003; and

1Whereas, upon her return home, Amy completed her Associate Degree in Arts
2and Science at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan, and also graduated from the
3Emergency Medical Technicians Program and the Certified Nursing Assistant
4Program at Lakeshore Technical College in 2008; and
AJR105,2,95 Whereas, while pursuing her bachelor's degree at the University of
6Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2008, Amy volunteered for service in Afghanistan and
7trained for deployment at Fort Hunter Ligget in California and in Topeka, Kansas,
8and then traveled on an overnight bus ride to Fort Hood, Texas, arriving on
9November 4, 2009; and
AJR105,2,1310 Whereas, Amy "Kruegs" Krueger was a member of St. Peter's United Church
11of Christ in Kiel, Wisconsin, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends,
12shooting pool, playing sheepshead, and being involved in softball and volleyball
13teams; and
AJR105,2,1614 Whereas, Amy felt a deep affection for her country and the ideals it holds dear,
15and she served the United States and its citizens with determination and respect,
16and was a profound example of duty, selflessness, and honor; and
AJR105,2,1817 Whereas, Amy will be sorely missed by all of those who knew her and by those
18whose lives she impacted; now, therefore, be it
AJR105,2,22 19Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of
20the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Staff Sergeant Amy S.
21Krueger and extends its deepest sympathies to her family, friends, and colleagues;
22and, be it further
AJR105,3,10 23Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
24resolution to her mother, Jerilyn Krueger; her biological father, David Diem; her
25adoptive father, Mark Krueger; her siblings, Jessica Krueger and Casey Krueger;
