4Guard was born on May 4, 1984, and died of injuries sustained at Camp As Sayliyah
5in Doha, Qatar, on April 14, 2007; and

SJR63,1,116 Whereas, Staff Sergeant Basham was a member of Headquarters Battery, 1st
7Battalion, 126th Field Artillery of the Wisconsin Army National Guard, and was
8mobilized in 2005 for a year of overseas service in Kuwait with Company D, 2nd
9Battalion, 128th Infantry. When his unit returned home, Basham volunteered for
10another tour of duty, joining a Kansas National Guard unit whose mission was in
11Iraq; and

SJR63,1,1512 Whereas, Staff Sergeant Basham had a passion for military service since early
13childhood and it was this passion that drew him to the Wisconsin Army National
14Guard, where he provided faithful and honorable service to the people of the state
15of Wisconsin and the people of the United States; and
