SJR54,1,43 Whereas, on August 28, 2007, United Parcel Service of America, Inc., (UPS) will
4celebrate its 100th anniversary; and
SJR54,1,65 Whereas, UPS has served Wisconsin since 1938 and today employs over 5,000
6employees and operates 84 facilities across the state; and
SJR54,1,87 Whereas, each day, more than 33,000 citizens of Wisconsin utilize the express
8delivery and specialized transportation and logistics services that UPS provides; and
SJR54,1,109 Whereas, UPS delivers more than 300,000 packages every day to customers
10across Wisconsin, connecting people, communities, and businesses; and
SJR54,1,1211 Whereas, more than 90 UPS drivers in Wisconsin have driven 25 or more years
12without an avoidable vehicle accident; and
SJR54,1,1513 Whereas, the services UPS provides connects the people of Wisconsin to more
14than 200 countries through its expansive transportation network that truly
15synchronizes global commerce; and

1Whereas, UPS contributed more than $840,000 to philanthropic endeavors in
2the state of Wisconsin in 2006, reflecting the company's emphasis on community
3service and citizenship; and
SJR54,2,64 Whereas, UPS will continue both to provide a substantial economic impact to
5the people of Wisconsin and focus on cultivating deep partnerships with the
6communities it serves; now, therefore, be it
SJR54,2,9 7Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin
8legislature commemorates UPS's 100th anniversary and recognizes and celebrates
9the economic and philanthropic contributions of UPS to the people of Wisconsin.
