SJR19,1,43 Whereas, Jon was born on May 13, 1981, in Neenah, Wisconsin, and died on
4January 27, 2007, of injuries sustained from enemy action in Taji, Iraq; and
SJR19,1,75 Whereas, Jon was a 1999 graduate of St. Mary's Central High School in
6Neenah, attended the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley and the University of
7Wisconsin-La Crosse, and enlisted in the United States Army in 2005; and
SJR19,1,98 Whereas, Jon served with distinction in the United States Army 1st Cavalry
9Division, Fort Hood, Texas, and was in his first tour of duty in Iraq; and
SJR19,1,1110 Whereas, Jon's family and fellow citizens are very proud of him and know that
11he died doing what he wanted to do: serve the nation and fight for freedom; and
SJR19,1,1412 Whereas, Jon embodied the Army's core values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless
13service, honor, integrity, and personal service and he will be sorely missed; now,

1Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of
2the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Jon Bailey St. John II
3and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues; and, be it

SJR19,2,8 5Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
6resolution to Jon's parents, Jon and Kay St. John, to his sister, Sonja St. John, and
7to his grandparents Harold St. John and Alice Bailey and Hugo and Margeret
8DeJong.
