2(b) of the statutes; relating to: continuing education requirements for certain
3funeral directors.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a licensed funeral director must apply for a renewal license
every two years. In order to obtain a renewal license, the funeral director must pay
a fee and, with the exception of licensees that have not finished two years of
licensure, submit to the Funeral Directors Examining Board proof of completion of
15 hours of continuing education. This bill exempts a person who has at least 40
years of experience as a licensed funeral director from the continuing education
requirement.
