Whereas, on December 18, 2006, Captain Kevin Kryst, of West Bend,
4Wisconsin, a member of Marine Light-Attack Helicopter Squadron 267, Marine
5Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, died
6while serving his country in Al Anbar province, Iraq; and

Whereas, Captain Kryst proudly and faithfully served the people of the state
8of Wisconsin and the people of the United States of America with distinction and
9honor in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; and

Whereas, the people of Wisconsin mourn the death of Captain Kryst; and

Whereas, Captain Kryst is survived by his parents, Elizabeth and Glenn Kryst,
12of West Bend, his brothers, Bradley, Justin, Tim, and Daniel, his sister, Jennifer, his
13fiance, Sara, his maternal grandparents, Sy and Betty Dziak and his paternal
14grandparents, Clifford and Rita Kryst; and

1Whereas, Captain Kryst made the ultimate sacrifice for his country while
2advancing the cause of freedom for the Iraqi people and will always be remembered
3for his loyalty; and

Whereas, Captain Kryst was given a Mass of Christian Burial on December 29,
52006, in West Bend and will be laid to rest on July 5, 2007, at Arlington National
6Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia; now, therefore, be it

7Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That: the legislature of
8the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Captain Kevin Kryst,
9expresses their sorrow at his death, and extends its deepest sympathies to his family,
10friends, and colleagues; and, be it further

11Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
12resolution to Captain Kryst's parents, Elizabeth and Glenn Kryst, of West Bend, his
13brothers, Bradley, Justin, Tim, and Daniel, his sister, Jennifer, his fiance, Sara, his
14maternal grandparents, Sy and Betty Dziak and his paternal grandparents, Clifford
15and Rita Kryst.
