AJR105,1,52 Whereas, Dominic Frinzi, a proud Italian American and a pillar of the
3Milwaukee Italian American community, born of first generation Sicilian American
4parents and father to three children, Joseph, James, and Dominic, passed away on
5January 28, 2008, at the age of 86; and
AJR105,1,96 Whereas, Dominic Frinzi graduated from Marquette University Law School in
71951 and served as a prominent Milwaukee attorney for more than 50 years, during
8which time he served as a Milwaukee County circuit court commissioner for more
9than 40 years and tried cases in each of Wisconsin's 72 counties; and
AJR105,1,1310 Whereas, Dominic Frinzi was serving his record seventh term as the president
11of the Italian Community Center, served as president of the National Italian
12American Bar Association, UNICO, the Italian American service organization, and
13served as correspondent consul, to the Consul General of Italy in Chicago; and
AJR105,2,614 Whereas, Dominic Frinzi received many awards and accolades over the years,
15including the Justinian Society's Justinian Man of the Year Award, the Italian

1Community Center's Theodore Mazza Community Service Award, the Milwaukee
2Ethnic Council's Vision for Milwaukee Award, the Fraternal Order of Eagles' Italian
3Person of the Year Award, UNICO National's Dr. Anthony P. Vastola Gold Medal
4Award for service, and was knighted by the Republic of Italy and given the title
5Cavaliere all'Ordine del Merito della Repubblica Italiana, or Knight of the Order of
6Merit, for his accomplishments as an Italian American; and
AJR105,2,97 Whereas, Dominic Frinzi was a proud advocate for the arts in the city of
8Milwaukee, serving on the board of directors for the Florentine Opera Company for
9many years; and
AJR105,2,1310 Whereas, Dominic Frinzi was also well known in the world of harness horse
11racing where he was a long-serving president of Harness Horsemen International,
12a member of the International Harness Horsemen Association Hall of Fame, and one
13of the sport's most vocal supporters; and
AJR105,2,1514 Whereas, Dominic Frinzi leaves behind a legacy of passionate devotion to his
15family, friends, community, and city; now, therefore, be it
AJR105,2,19 16Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
17Wisconsin legislature commend the time, energy, and passion that Dominic Frinzi
18contributed to this state and to his community, express their sorrow at his passing,
19and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
AJR105,2,21 20Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
21resolution to Dominic's three children, Joseph, James, and Dominic.
