2president and vice president in 2008.

Under current law, the state or national chairperson of each political party that
qualifies to have its candidates appear on a separate ballot, column, or row at the
September primary must certify to the Government Accountability Board the names
of the party's candidates for the offices of president and vice president of the United
States no later than 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday in September preceding the
presidential election. In 2008, this deadline is September 2, 2008.
This bill directs the Government Accountability Board to accept this
certification in 2008 if the certification is made no later than 5 p.m. on September
5, 2008.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB875,2,24 (1) Notwithstanding section 8.16 (7) of the statutes, the government
5accountability board shall accept the certification of the state or national chairperson
6of any political party entitled to a September primary ballot of the names of the

1party's nominees for the offices of president and vice president in 2008 if the
2certification is made no later than 5 p.m. on September 5, 2008.
