SJR50,1,42 Whereas, Army Private First Class Rachel Bosveld was born on November 7,
31983, in Neenah, Wisconsin, and died on Sunday, October 26, 2003, in Abu Ghraib,
4Iraq, during a mortar attack on an Iraqi police station; and
SJR50,1,6 5Whereas, PFC Bosveld served with distinction with the 527th Military Police
6Company based in Giessen, Germany; and
SJR50,1,8 7Whereas, PFC Bosveld graduated from Waupun High School in 2003 after
8transferring from Oshkosh West High School; and
SJR50,1,11 9Whereas, PFC Bosveld enjoyed art activities, loved to play the violin, and
10participated in numerous school plays including playing Frieda in Waupun High
11School's "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"; and
SJR50,1,13 12Whereas, PFC Bosveld chose to follow the family tradition of serving her
13country in the military; and
SJR50,1,15 14Whereas, PFC Bosveld made the ultimate sacrifice for her country while
15advancing the cause of freedom for the Iraqi people; and

1Whereas, PFC Bosveld will always be remembered for her loyalty and duty and
2will never be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
SJR50,2,6 3Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
4Wisconsin legislature commend the life of Army Private First Class Rachel Bosveld,
5express their sorrow at her death, and extend their condolences to her family and
6friends; and, be it further
SJR50,2,10 7Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
8resolution to PFC Bosveld's mother, Mary Bosveld of Oshkosh; to her father and
9stepmother, Marvin and Julie Bosveld of Waupun; to her brother, Craig Bosveld of
10Antigo; and to her maternal grandmother, Marion Swonger of Sun Prairie.
