2dedication to the betterment of the City of Milwaukee and our international
3community as president of Milwaukee Turners, Inc.
SJR42,1,54 Whereas, Eugene Gilbert has been a member of the Milwaukee Turners, Inc.,
5since 1961, serving as president from 1967 to 1970 and currently since 1996; and
SJR42,1,86 Whereas, Eugene Gilbert has participated in every National Turnfest since
71959 and was chairman of the 43rd Annual Turnfest, which was held in Milwaukee
8in 1971; and
SJR42,1,119 Whereas, Eugene Gilbert continues to show outstanding support and
10dedication to the Milwaukee Turners, Inc., by becoming the driving force behind the
11restoration of the Turner Ballroom, a nationally recognized landmark; and
SJR42,1,1512 Whereas, Eugene Gilbert has shown his commitment to our international
13community by offering his expertise in investment products to benefit countries such
14as Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Zimbabwe through the International Executive
15Service Corps; and

1Whereas, Eugene Gilbert draws from his international experience to positively
2contribute to the Milwaukee community through his work at Prudential Securities,
3Inc.; and
SJR42,2,64 Whereas, in addition to his community presence, Eugene Gilbert has been a
5loving husband to his wife, Inez, as well as his 3 children and 6 grandchildren; now,
6therefore, be it
SJR42,2,11 7Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
8legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend and congratulate Eugene Gilbert for
9his inspiring dedication to the betterment of the City of Milwaukee and our
10international community and wish him well in his future endeavors; and, be it
11further
SJR42,2,13 12Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
13resolution to Eugene Gilbert.
