SJR4,1,32 Whereas, Roman R. Blenski was born on January 24, 1917, in Milwaukee,
3Wisconsin, and died on August 30, 2002; and
SJR4,1,44 Whereas, he graduated from Bay View High School in 1936; and
SJR4,1,65 Whereas, Mr. Blenski was elected to the Wisconsin assembly in 1944, serving
6in the 1945 session; and
SJR4,1,87 Whereas, during his tenure in the assembly, Mr. Blenski served on the
8Committee on Municipalities; and
SJR4,1,109 Whereas, he was subsequently elected to the Wisconsin senate in the 1949
10special election and reelected in 1950, serving until 1955; and
SJR4,1,1211 Whereas, during his tenure in the senate, Mr. Blenski served on the Education
12and Public Welfare Committee; and
SJR4,1,1513 Whereas, after his tenure in the senate, Mr. Blenski remained active in the
14political arena, and was a frequent candidate for various public offices; now,
15therefore, be it

1Resolved by the senate senate assembly concurring, That the members of
2the Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that Roman R.
3Blenski, Sr., contributed to this state and his community, express their sorrow at his
4death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
SJR4,2,7 5Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
6resolution to Mr. Blenski's wife, Rita; his sons, Roman, Robert, and Ronald; his
7daughter, Eleanore E. Shafei; and his brother, Michael Blenski.
