Whereas, the UW-Green Bay women's basketball team is making its 6th trip
4to the NCAA tournament, which includes their 5th trip in the past 6 seasons; and

Whereas the UW-Green Bay women's basketball team compiled a 27-3 record
6including an 11-game winning streak and was nationally ranked for the first time
7as an NCAA Division I team; and

Whereas, Coach Kevin Borseth was recognized as the 2003 Horizon League's
9head women's basketball coach of the year and as the NCAA Region 6 coach of the
10year by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and was a finalist for the
11Naismith coach of the year award; and

Whereas under Coach Borseth's guidance, the team achieved its highest
13winning total in its 16-year history as an NCAA Division I program winning its 5th
14straight Horizon League title, winning an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament,
15and earning its highest seeding ever in the NCAA tournament; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
2legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend and congratulate the 2002-03
3University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women's basketball team and Head Coach Kevin
4Borseth for their hard work and success during the season and share the pride of the
5citizens of the state of Wisconsin in their team achievement; and, be it further

6Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
7resolution to Head Coach Kevin Borseth, his staff, each member of the team, and
8Athletic Director Ken Bothof.
