SR12,1,32 Whereas, President George W. Bush has proposed a bipartisan Economic
3Security Plan to protect jobs; and
SR12,1,64 Whereas, President Bush's plan reduces taxes for low-income and
5moderate-income households, ensuring that the most vulnerable workers will have
6more money in their pockets; and
SR12,1,77 Whereas, President Bush's plan promotes the creation of new jobs; and
SR12,1,108 Whereas, President Bush's plan provides $3 billion in special national
9emergency grants to help disabled workers maintain health coverage, supplement
10their income, and receive job training; and
SR12,1,1211 Whereas, President Bush's plan makes $11 billion available to states to help
12low-income workers obtain health insurance; and
SR12,1,1513 Whereas, President Bush's plan encourages affected workers to take advantage
14of more than $6 billion in existing federal job search, training, and placement
15programs; and

1Whereas, President Bush's plan encourages businesses to invest in new
2equipment and resources, allowing them to make purchases that they might not
3otherwise have been able to afford; and
SR12,2,64 Whereas, President Bush's plan gives consumers more to spend and invest and
5gives businesses and entrepreneurs more resources to help them create more jobs;

SR12,2,97 Whereas, President Bush's plan reduces taxes for low-income and
8moderate-income households beyond relief already approved by Congress, ensuring
9that the most vulnerable workers will have more money in their pockets; and
SR12,2,1210 Whereas, the Economic Security Plan has passed the U.S. house of
11representatives twice and has bipartisan support in the U.S. senate; now, therefore,

SR12,2,15 13Resolved by the senate, That the members of the Wisconsin senate urge both
14of Wisconsin's U.S. senators to urge Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle to allow
15President Bush's Economic Security Plan to receive a vote; and, be it further
SR12,2,19 16Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution to
17the president and secretary of the U.S. senate and to each member of the U.S. senate
18from this state, attesting the adoption of this resolution by the 2001 senate of the
19state of Wisconsin.
