Whereas, University of Wisconsin-Madison head basketball coach Dick
4Bennett recently coached his final game after a 36-year coaching career in the state

7impressive record of 453 victories and only 258 losses; and

Whereas, Dick Bennett coached the University of Wisconsin Badgers to their

Whereas, Dick Bennett graduated from Ripon College in 1965, and began his
13high school coaching career later that year in West Bend; and

2a teacher on and off the court, instilling passion, dedication, and hard-work in his
3players throughout his 36-year coaching career; and

5the University of Wisconsin-Madison through their senior year; now, therefore, be

7Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of
8the state of Wisconsin commends Dick Bennett on his career, accomplishments, and
9contributions to Wisconsin basketball and wishes him the very best upon his
10retirement; and, be it further
