SJR34,1,22 Whereas, Joe Gruber has been a strong labor leader for many years; and
SJR34,1,43 Whereas, Joe Gruber was first elected president of Allied Industrial Workers
4of America, Local 849, in 1962, while working at Regal Ware; and
SJR34,1,75 Whereas, Joe was appointed Region 9 representative of the Allied Industrial
6Workers of America, for whom he handled bargaining contracts, grievances and
7arbitration disputes; and
SJR34,1,118 Whereas, Joe Gruber was appointed by Governor Schreiber to the Wisconsin
9Council on Developmental Disabilities and served on the National Association of
10Developmental Disabilities Council's Employe Protection Committee from 1977 to
111989; and
SJR34,1,1412 Whereas, Joe Gruber was elected executive vice president of the Wisconsin
13AFL-CIO in 1974, a position that he held until his retirement in 1994; now,
14therefore, be it
SJR34,2,2 15Resolved by the senate, the Assembly concurring, That the members of the
16legislature of the state of Wisconsin congratulate Joe Gruber on his years of service,

1commend him on his distinguished career and wish him the best of everything upon
2his retirement; and, be it further
SJR34,2,4 3Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
4resolution to Joe Gruber.
