ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of Second Lieutenant Tracy Lynn Alger.
Whereas, Tracy was born on June 21, 1977, in Chippewa County, and died on November 1, 2007, of injuries sustained from enemy actions in Shubayshen, Iraq; and
Whereas, Tracy grew up in New Auburn, Wisconsin, and was an avid barrel racer; and
Whereas, Tracy was a 1995 graduate of Chetek Wisconsin High School and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a degree in graphic design; and
Whereas, Tracy worked as a graphic design artist and a certified nursing assistant at a nursing home until she enlisted in the United States Army in January 2006; and
Whereas, Tracy served with distinction in the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat team, 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and was on her first tour of duty in Iraq; and
Whereas, Tracy's family and friends are very proud of her service and know she died in honor and courage, doing what she wanted to do by serving her country; and
Whereas, Tracy embodied the Army's core values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal service and she will be sorely missed; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the remarkable life of Tracy Lynn Alger, express sorrow at her death, and extend their condolences to her family and friends.
