2003 Senate Joint Resolution 70
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of Marine Corporal Jesse Thiry.
Whereas, Corporal Jesse Thiry was born March 2, 1981, in Green Bay, and died April 5, 2004, while bravely fighting for his country in Iraq as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps; and
Whereas, Corporal Thiry loved the Wisconsin outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends; and
Whereas, Corporal Thiry graduated from Luxemburg-Casco High School in 2000; and
Whereas, Corporal Thiry joined the U.S. Marine Corps in November 2000, and attended basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California; and
Whereas, Corporal Thiry performed his infantry training at Camp Pendleton and served as a weapons instructor in Quantico, Virginia; and
Whereas, Corporal Thiry was stationed in Japan until his deployment to Iraq in March 2004; and
Whereas, Corporal Thiry loved his family, friends, community, and country, proudly serving the people of the United States in Iraq and receiving the Purple Heart posthumously; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin Legislature commend the devoted service that Corporal Jesse Thiry gave unselfishly to his country, his state, and his community; express their sorrow at his death; and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Corporal Thiry's father, Randy, and stepmother Sue, of Casco; his mother, Kathy Bornman, of Townsend; his fiancée, Jamie Johnson, of Dyckesville; his brothers and sisters, Scott and special friend, Kim, of Luxemburg; Denise of Luxemburg; Ben Brien of Lincoln; Trishia, Anna, Don, and Travis, all of Casco; paternal grandparents, Goldie and Grace Thiry, of Casco; his nephews, Antonio, Hayden, and Pryce Thiry; his niece, Hailey Brien; and his aunts and uncles, Ernie and Mary Ellen Fameree, of Casco, James and Diane Thiry, of Luxemburg, and Michael and Patricia Sloan, of Lockport, Illinois.
