ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Representative Joseph C. Czerwinski.
Whereas, Joseph Czerwinski was born on February 15, 1944, in Milwaukee and died on August 14, 1998, in Milwaukee; and
Whereas, he graduated from Boys Tech High School in 1963; and
Whereas, Mr. Czerwinski was elected to the Wisconsin assembly in 1968 at age 24; and
Whereas, during his 12 years in the legislature, Mr. Czerwinski stood courageously in favor of open housing and civil rights; and
Whereas, Mr. Czerwinski focused much of his energy in the assembly on health care matters, helping to shape state health policy and serving as chairperson of the Health and Social Services Committee from 1971 to 1980; and
Whereas, Mr. Czerwinski was well-respected by his colleagues and maintained friendships with them long after he left the legislature in 1980; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend Joseph C. Czerwinski's years of dedicated public service and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Mr. Czerwinski's son, Jonah; to his daughter, Meghan; and to his brother, Tom.
