SENATE SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1,
To 1995 SENATE BILL 40

SB40-SSA1,1,2 1An Act to amend 20.245 (2) (g) and 44.20 (1m) (a); and to create 44.20 (1m) (c)
2of the statutes; relating to: fees for admission to historic sites.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB40-SSA1, s. 1 3Section 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert
4the following amounts for the purposes indicated: - See PDF for table PDF
SB40-SSA1, s. 2 5Section 2. 20.245 (2) (g) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB40-SSA1,2,26 20.245 (2) (g) Admissions, sales and other receipts. The amounts in the
7schedule for the operation and maintenance of historic sites, including state-owned
8housing at such sites.
All moneys received from admissions, sales and other receipts
9generated by each historic site, including rentals of state-owned housing, to be used

1for the operation and maintenance of historic sites, including state-owned housing
2at such sites
shall be credited to this appropriation account.
SB40-SSA1, s. 3 3Section 3. 44.20 (1m) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB40-SSA1,2,54 44.20 (1m) (a) By January 1, 1995, the The board of curators shall establish
5the following fees for admissions to historic sites:
SB40-SSA1,2,76 1. For Old World Wisconsin, $4 $7 for an individual 13 years of age or older and
7$1.50 for an individual under 13 years of age.
SB40-SSA1,2,108 2. For Pendarvis, Stonefield Village, Villa Louis and Old Wade House, $2.50 $5
9for an individual 13 years of age or older and no charge for an individual under 13
10years of age.
SB40-SSA1,2,1211 3. For Madeline Island, $2 $3 for an individual 13 years of age or older and no
12charge for an individual under 13 years of age.
SB40-SSA1, s. 4 13Section 4. 44.20 (1m) (c) of the statutes is created to read:
SB40-SSA1,2,1614 44.20 (1m) (c) Notwithstanding par. (a), the board of curators may reduce any
15fee established under par. (a) for members of the historical society and other
16categories of individuals.

SB40-SSA1,2,18 18(1)  Historic sites admission fees.
SB40-SSA1,2,23 19(a)  In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the
20appropriation to the historical society under section 20.245 (2) (bd) of the statutes,
21as affected by the acts of 1993 and 1995, the dollar amount is decreased by $9,600
22for fiscal year 1994-95 to reduce funding to reflect changes in the specific schedule
23of fees for admission to historic sites.
SB40-SSA1,3,3 24(b)  In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the
25appropriation to the historical society under section 20.245 (2) (be) of the statutes,

1as affected by the acts of 1993 and 1995, the dollar amount is decreased by $13,600
2for fiscal year 1994-95 to reduce funding to reflect changes in the specific schedule
3of fees for admission to historic sites.
SB40-SSA1,3,8 4(c)  In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the
5appropriation to the historical society under section 20.245 (2) (bf) of the statutes,
6as affected by the acts of 1993 and 1995, the dollar amount is decreased by $21,800
7for fiscal year 1994-95 to reduce funding to reflect changes in the specific schedule
8of fees for admission to historic sites.
SB40-SSA1,3,13 9(d)  In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the
10appropriation to the historical society under section 20.245 (2) (bg) of the statutes,
11as affected by the acts of 1993 and 1995, the dollar amount is decreased by $17,100
12for fiscal year 1994-95 to reduce funding to reflect changes in the specific schedule
13of fees for admission to historic sites.
SB40-SSA1,3,18 14(e)  In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the
15appropriation to the historical society under section 20.245 (2) (bh) of the statutes,
16as affected by the acts of 1993 and 1995, the dollar amount is decreased by $5,900
17for fiscal year 1994-95 to reduce funding to reflect changes in the specific schedule
18of fees for admission to historic sites.
SB40-SSA1,3,23 19(f)  In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the
20appropriation to the historical society under section 20.245 (2) (bi) of the statutes, as
21affected by the acts of 1993 and 1995, the dollar amount is decreased by $64,000 for
22fiscal year 1994-95 to reduce funding to reflect changes in the specific schedule of
23fees for admission to historic sites.
SB40-SSA1,4,8 24(g)  Notwithstanding section 20.001 (3) (c) of the statutes, on June 30, 1995,
25there shall lapse to the general fund from the appropriation account to the historical

1society under section 20.245 (2) (g) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1993 and
21995, an amount equal to the difference, if any, between any appropriation change
3specified in paragraphs (a) to (f) and the unencumbered balance on the effective date
4of this paragraph for the applicable appropriation account specified in paragraphs
5(a) to (f) . This paragraph only applies to any appropriation change specified in
6paragraphs (a) to (f) for which the unencumbered balance on the effective date of this
7paragraph for the applicable appropriation account is insufficient to make the
8appropriation change specified in paragraphs (a) to (f) .
SB40-SSA1, s. 6 9Section 6. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication,
10except as follows:
SB40-SSA1,4,12 11(1) The treatment of section 20.245 (2) (g) of the statutes takes effect on July
