AB275,1,2 1An Act to create 86.35 of the statutes; relating to: requiring approval by a
2municipal governing body before construction of highway roundabouts.

Under this bill, no roundabout may be constructed as part of a highway project
unless the authority in charge of the highway project obtains approval for the
roundabout from the governing body of the municipality where the proposed
roundabout would be located.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB275,1 3Section 1. 86.35 of the statutes is created to read:
AB275,1,6 486.35 Approval of municipal governing body required before
5construction of roundabouts.
(1) In this section, "municipality" means a city,
6village, or town.
AB275,2,3 7(2) After the effective date of this section .... [LRB inserts date], no roundabout
8may be constructed as part of any highway project unless the authority in charge of

1the highway project seeks and obtains approval, by a majority vote, for the
2roundabout from the governing body of the municipality where the proposed
3roundabout would be located.
